Equestrian Ambassador

Marco Bernal was born in Barranquilla, Colombia where his love for horses began on his father’s farm. He studied and graduated from the prestigious German Riding School in Warendorf and went on to be the first Latin American to achieve this title. In 1990 Marco was a Silver Medalist at the Central American and Caribbean Games in Queretaro, Mexico. He was also a Silver Medalist in the team competition at the 1999 Pan-American Games in Winnipeg, Canada.

In 2005, he earned the world record at WEF with a score of 85.385% with Farewell IV. In 2009 Bernal was granted the Wild Card for the FEI World Cup in Las Vegas on Diamore. On February 11, 2010, Marco Bernal was honored by the Colombian President Alvaro Uribe, and given the country’s Athlete Award during a private ceremony in Bogota, Colombia.
