Sis Wenger has, for most of the past 20 years, been President and CEO of the National Association for Children of Alcoholics (NACoA), whose mission is to eliminate the adverse impact of alcohol and drugs on children and families. Sis directs NACoA’s program initiatives that support primary health care providers, social workers, clergy, educators, and early childhood professional efforts. For over 10 years, she taught undergraduate and graduate courses in addiction studies and was the lead substance abuse trainer for the Michigan Judicial Institute. She has authored numerous articles, edited or contributed to books, journals, and program materials, managed a national clergy education project – all to support bringing help and healing to children and families hurt by addiction. She has been the recipient of numerous awards, including two national Presidential awards for her work.
